Covent Garden with a toddler

By | September 3, 2011

Today we had arranged to meet some friends for lunch in Covent Garden. It was a beautiful sunny day and we all enjoyed the drive from north London through the City and over the Thames. We parked up and the first thing we thought of was Edward needing to stretch his legs. He’s very happy sitting in his car seat or pushchair and we’re trying to encourage him to be a bit more independent. Just where do you let a toddler stretch their legs in central London on a bustling end of summer day?

The South Bank was too busy so we waited until we reached Covent Garden before we got Edward out of his pushchair. Unfortunately the sheer number of people put him off and he didn’t want to walk very far. It also didn’t help that he walked into a skateboarding youth which scared him!

However he was very well behaved during lunch (at Byron – yummy!) and was rewarded with a new Chuggington book from the London Transport Museum shop.
