Fun with styrofoam

By | February 5, 2014

I was feeling a little tired after our mammoth craft session yesterday so today was a little more subdued. I’d been wanting to try printing with styrofoam for a while so today was the day.

I had saved a couple of styrofoam plates from some ready-made pizzas and traced the shape of the Piston Cup on to it with the end of a pen. If you’re not familiar with the Piston Cup it’s the race at the beginning of the Disney film Cars which my son absolutely adores.

Then the 3 year old covered the styrofoam plate in paint

and more paint

before covering it with a sheet of white paper and pressing it down with a rolling pin

He loved the finished result!

This reminds me, you know you admired Aaron’s Lightning McQueen costume that cost 16 pounds from H&M (2 piece) well I don’t know if they still stock it, but I saw a one-piece in the Disney store this week and it is gorgeous – but I can’t remember if it was 22 or 25. Just thought I would tell you in case you still want to get one for big brother.
