Lego Christmas decorations for kids

We are just starting to think about Christmas so thought it might be fun to try our hand at making some Lego decorations. The children usually have little trees in their rooms and it would be great to use up some of our Lego stash on ornaments.

Little Sis loves playing with chunky Lego Duplo bricks so today we tipped everything out on the floor and set to work. We talked about some of our favourite decorations from baubles, to snowmen and colourful candy canes.

This was a fun project to talk about colours and Little Sis tried to find different colours and sort them into piles. There are so many different things to make with Lego but here are some of our more successful!

Lego wreath – Little Sis was adamant she could make a round wreath but it is really hard (and a little frustrating too!). I’m hoping we can try this again another day building on a base board to give it some stability.

To hang our  Lego decorations I will thread some ribbon between the top bricks, snapping them shut to hold in place. That way, when Christmas is over, the children can break them and build them into something else all over again!
