Toddler swimming – Clissold Leisure Centre

By | August 11, 2011

We thought we’d try a different swimming pool today so hopped on the 141 to leafy Stoke Newington and Clissold Leisure Centre. It was a pleasant change from our usual stomping ground and the toddler pool was amazing! It was quite small but had somekind of magic mushroom water shower going on which Edward just stood under for a good half an hour. The pool was lovely with big steps which he could easily navigate and a weird fountain which moved up and down the length of the pool. Edward had a great time exploring the pool, splashing, jumping off the side of the pool and hanging out with his friend Nathan.

What we didn’t like:

  • Buggies had to be left outside the changing area (it is really handy to have the buggy to put Edward in whilst I’m getting changed)
  • The baby/toddler changing area was too small
  • The locker money wasn’t refunded
  • If the toddler pool is busy you have to wait inside the changing rooms until someone leaves – difficult when holding a toddler who can see the pool and doesn’t understand the concept of waiting
  • The water  in the toddler pool was a little cold

All this activity meant we had a quiet afternoon, Edward decided to do some reading.
