Baby’s First Year and Fatherhood book reviews

By | October 26, 2011

We were recently sent two books to review: Baby’s First Year and Fatherhood – The Essential Guide, great timing as we are expecting our new arrival soon!

Baby’s First Year- A Parent’s Guide by Shanta Everington aims to answer all your questions about your new baby. Chapters cover the first few weeks, feeding, crying, sleep, hygiene, teething, play and weaning. Each chapter has a helpful summary and the information is reinforced with quotes from parents and helpful facts. This is a great guide for first time parents and at just over 100 pages won’t bog you down with too much information.

Fatherhood – The Essential Guide is written by the well known parent blogger Tim Atkinson. At just over 100 pages this is a well written guide for dads by a dad. Chapters cover everything from planning a family, pregnancy and birth to 3 years old and financial help. At times the book seems to include a lot of information, but this may be how men’s heads work compared to women! It’s not often that daddy gets sent something to review but he did read the book and thought it was well written with lots of helpful content.

We would recommend both books for new parents who want a handy guide to parenthood written from a female or male perspective. Each books retails at £9.99.

The books are published by Need2Know who publish similar guides on a range of subjects.
