We were invited to go and see our local Mothercare which has just been refurbished. It’s on a retail park, or destination park as it calls itself. It’s a bit of a bland makeover but now contains a Costa Coffee, reading area, play area and activity room.
I would love it if they put this much effort into the Mothercare on our local High Road which is old and cramped. Imagine if they actually made it into a place where people wanted to go and hang out with their children, a place to go to an activity class or browse the clothes and toys without the security guard constantly checking up on you. Or even if they invested in it as a place for the local community because that would be a fantastic thing to do for local parents and Wood Green desperately needs that kind of positive attention.
Fingers crossed that’s part of their big plan because I can’t drive to the big retail park however nice they have made it!
