National Bookstart Week

By | June 24, 2013

Did you know today marks the start of National Bookstart Week? I didn’t either until we were told at our weekly Storytime session at the local library this morning. Being National Bookstart Week meant that the session was slightly out of the ordinary, it started with a bear hunt. Instead of the well known we’re going on a bear hunt, it was actually a bear hunt for the library Bookstart bear, otherwise known as Archie.

We’re really fortunate that our library is situate in the historic Manor Farm complex, so there was no hardship in following the bear paw prints around the Great Barn, the pre-Norman Motte and Bailey fort or horse pond, singing nursery rhymes as we went.

After the session had finished we decided it was time to sign up for a Bookstart passport, we love a challenge!
