Swakeleys House, Ickenham

By | September 21, 2013

It’s the day we’ve been waiting for! London Open House. Top of our list was Swakeleys House which is practically on our doorstep. It’s the most amazing Jacobean house which is sadly empty. Most of the grounds were sold off in the 1930s to build modern day Ickenham but that doesn’t detract from its’ splendour.

My hands were full of a rather naughty child or two who didn’t want to stand still or listen to the guide. Which means my only photograph is this one –
