For a day where we didn’t have a lot to do, we ended up doing quite a lot! First stop of the day was the local Farmer’s Market where we bought lots of tasty food for dinner. There aren’t as many stalls as the one we used to visit at Ally Pally but there’s still lots to do and see.
The toddler was eyeing up the petting area with pigs, geese and rabbits, but we’ve promised him a visit next time. We did stop for a drink and some snacks though.
Then it was on to Harrow for a spot of shopping before returning home. A few minutes from home we spotted a sign about a miniature railway at a nearby park so stopped for a ride as the weather was perfect. Roxbourne Park Miniature Railway, run by Harrow & Wembley Society of Model Engineers, takes place in a corner of Roxbourne Park in Eastcote.
The railway is open every Sunday afternoon from April to November and for the grand sum of £1 you can have a ride on one of the wonderful miniatures. A must for every train fan!

Love the roof timbers at the Farmers’ Market…….BB had a good day……..xxxx
Love how an ordinary day can become quite an adventure like this. I think the miniature railway was the icing on the cake and for just a £1 too, what a bargain. We have a little train at Coombe Mill too, it is free for our holiday guests but we don’t open to the public. It is popular with the children. Thank you for sharing your not so ordinary day with Country Kids.
