Christmas market shopping

By | November 16, 2013

We stayed local today. First stop was the Martinmass Fair at our local church followed by the local farmers market across the road at Manor Farm which had been transformed into an amazing Christmas market complete with Father Christmas and his Grotto.

The little petting zoo was there as well as a pony for pony rides! The toddler wasn’t feeling very brave but Little Sis was very happy to get up close with the little pony. Then we went into the enclosure and had fun feeding the animals. It was lovely to be outside but so cold!

They had a great assortment from geese, a pig, ferrets, and lots of bunnies and guinea pigs. They children were happy to pick them up and stroke them but I don’t think they’ll be asking for one at home any time soon.

Then it was on to look round all the tempting stalls and get warm inside the large Barn. There were some lovely things to buy and we were very tempted by a retro print of Ruislip to add to our collection. The artisan food market is running another Christmas special with lots of stalls selling gifts, food, drink and plants on December 14th and 15th – perfect for stocking up before the big day.

That sounds like a lovely way to start thinking about Christmas shopping. I must keep a look out for a local market day here, though the animals we have here already! Thank you for joining me on Country Kids and I hope that is your Christmas shopping now well underway.

I think all children love the animals. I’m hoping next time to persuade them to take a donkey ride 🙂
