Shuttleworth Old Warden Park

By | May 3, 2014

We spent the morning at the Shuttleworth Collection as Daddy wanted to attend the Mayfly. The weather was lovely and daddy insisted on wearing his flying hat.

The Shuttleworth Collection is quite fun and depicts the history of flight from the early 1900s to the 1950s. It is housed at Shuttleworth (Old Warden) Aerodrome, one of the few traditional all grass aerodromes still in regular use, and you can explore the collection in lots of the old hangars. Big Brother had tons of questions about engines and aircraft and it was great to see him so interested in everything.

day out

No day out is complete without a picnic which we enjoyed in the car!

Then it was home to start our weekend of Bank Holiday fun decorating!

Now my boys would have loved this, their idea of a perfect day out. I wish there were some more photos to show. It all sounds fascinating.

You were about 2 minutes from me… I love Shuttleworth it is such a lovely place – the whole estate is pretty breathtaking. I love watching the airshows, my Grandad used to take me there all the time when I was younger. Great memories.

Thank you for bringing them back for me 🙂
