We were set a challenge to create our very own healthy superhero. Both my children love fruit so I’m grateful they need no encouragement to eat plenty of it but we don’t play with our food very often.
This is a great time of year for fruit and our fruit bowl was overflowing with apples, oranges, bananas, grapes, nectarines, peaches, and blueberries. Whilst Big Brother was at nursery I put some pieces of fruit on the table along with a couple of cut out eye masks. I asked Little Sis about her favourite superheroes. At the moment she adores Spiderman so we talked about his special powers and what special powers we would like.
Then we got to work creating our own superhero with healthy superpowers. First of all Little Sis was happy adding googly eye stickers to apples and peaches.
Of course she needed to sample the fruit as we went along!
Then we decided to create Mr Bashful Banana. We gave him his own superhero mask to help protect his identity, eyes, eyebrows and a moustache. We also made him a little superhero cape.
Sadly Little Sis wanted to eat him and he got a little broken which is why he’s called Bashful Banana – he’s modest but a little broken too. He packs a powerful Vitamin B6 punch and his superhero powers include moving at the speed of light, the ability to blend in with anything yellow and he’s pretty tasty too.
This blog post is our entry into the Tots100/Plum Baby Mighty Moments challenge
I’m not sure but I think in that last photo the super-peach might have been spending time with the fermented super-grapes! 😀
His disguise is excellent – I didn’t even know he was a banana 🙂
Great ideas – LS will soon be as creative as BB……………….xxxx
