Today we made fingerprint robins to make into gift tags. We’ve been reading A Year in Crafts by Clare Youngs and this was one of our favourite projects in it. They were easy to make but add a sweet little handmade touch to gifts.
All you need are sheets of paper, a pen and red ink pad.
I drew robins on to a sheet of white paper, then set up my 4 year old with the red ink pad.
He loved sticking his fingers on the ink pad then pressing it on the paper to give the robin its red breast.
When they were dry we cut them out, punched a hole in them and threaded some ribbon through to finish off the gift tags.
