Little Sis and I were the lucky recipients of tickets to the UK premiere of The Golden Boots today at the Odeon, Leicester Square. The dress code was pink and welly boots so Little Sis dressed in her favourite Peppa Pig pink jumper and Peppa Pig wellies. She teamed it with her new Robin knitted hat as it was pretty cold today.
She was very excited as we queued outside the cinema and we saw lots of celebrities having their photos taken. Peppa and George were outside but Little Sis was too shy to have her photo taken with them.
Inside the cinema we were lucky to find our friends so we sat down and waited for the special screening to begin. There was a short introduction from the people behind Peppa Pig (sorry I have already forgotten names!).
Basically, Peppa Pig: The Golden Boots, is a selection of favourite Peppa Pig stories with a never-before-seen fifteen minute special. The old favourites include Baby Alexander, Snowy Mountain and The Queen. In between the episodes were small pre-recorded pieces by some of The Milkshake presenters. We thought this was a great idea as they encouraged us to sing and join in although it also felt a bit like we were watching the tv at home and not in a cinema! At some point in the 55 minutes the special extended episode started – The Golden Boots.
The special sees Peppa travel over land, sea and air to find her Golden Boots in time for the big Puddle Jump Competition. The episode is a little silly and far-fetched as you would expect, but guess what? My 3 year old loved it! The 15 minutes went really quickly and we hardly noticed it was an extended episode.
Before we were invited to the premiere I knew I wanted to take the children to see this. They love watching Peppa and it doesn’t matter to them how many times they’ve seen an episode, they just enjoy them. This compilation is a great idea, just right for small people with tiny attention spans and perhaps a great introduction to going to the cinema too.
We would thoroughly recommend Peppa Pig The Golden Boots to Peppa fans! The Golden Boots lasts about 55 minutes and is exclusive to cinema’s during half term.
Disclosure – we were given two free tickets to attend this screening and a rather lovely goody bag too.
What a lovely treat for the world’s number one Peppa fan. Pleased she enjoyed it so much………xxxx
PS – should have said – I love the robin hat, it looks so cosy……xxxx
