We started off our Easter holidays with a visit to the wonderful Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Great Missenden. The Museum is aimed at 6 to 12 year olds and features three interactive galleries: Boy gallery looks at Roald Dahl’s school days while Solo gallery houses his original Writing Hut. The Story Centre puts your imagination centre-stage with fantabulous activities to inspire the writer in you.
We were there to celebrate the launch of the BBC One adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot, starring Dame Judi Dench and Dustin Hoffman which is now available on DVD and digital release in the UK. The jam-packed day included a screening of the film, a tortoise hunt, craft activities, dressing up and face painting.
The children had a lovely time and we can’t wait to go back the the Museum and start reading some Roald Dahl books at home! After we had finished at the Museum we stopped for a snack in the car before heading off to nearby Chesham.
