We’ve been having fun making our own play dough for a while now and have built up quite a collection. Today we got all the different colours out. Basic play dough is really easy to make and lasts for ages if stored in an air tight bag. We like to add colour and smell to ours.
Today we felt we had exhausted the normal play ideas of craft sticks and googly eyes so found something different – egg boxes!
Egg box play dough cones
I cut the four cardboard cone parts from a normal egg box and turned them upside down to make ice cream cones. Then the children added their play dough balls. The egg box cones are the perfect size for small hands.
This was a really simply little make but meant the children had something new to make.
You can add button ‘sprinkles’ and craft stick ‘flakes’ and anything else you can find.
That’s a great idea, play dough and ice cream, what a fun combination for kids.
