Over the last week we’ve been reading Jack’s Acrobatics. It’s a lovely book aimed at 3-7 year olds, all about acrobatics that you can do safely in your home.
Jack’s Acrobatics: a fun step-by-step guide to acrobatic exercises for the whole family.
Jack wants to put on an acrobatics show in time for the holidays. Every week he practises doing somersaults and building pyramids with Mum and Dad. Do you want to join in the fun too?
Jack’s Acrobatics is a collection of 24 acrobatic exercises for the whole family. From simple practice games to acrobatic tricks, Jack’s Acrobatics brings pure pleasure to young and old and helps with the development of motor skills along the way.
Rika Taeymans founded the very first Flemish circus school 20 years ago. Laura Van Bouchout was one of her first pupils. Their book is a result of years of teaching circomotorics, a pleasureable mixture of acrobatics and movement for parents and children alike. Emma Thyssen provides easy to follow step-by-step illustrations of each game and movement.
Both my children love to play outdoors but this is a different kind of book, one which encourages the whole family to get outdoors and connect physically and mentally. We’ve had fun looking through the book and choosing some of the acrobatic exercises to try.
The illustrations are really helpful and each activity includes a handy key which explains which part of the body is involved. This is a great book for exploring the upper body and having lots of fun in the process.
