How to make a camo headband

By | July 28, 2016

Our crafting has been inspired by the film Swallows and Amazons which we were lucky enough to watch a few weeks ago. The film was beautiful and had me craving for a week in the Lake District, hiring a boat and having lots of outdoor adventures!

At the moment we’re firmly stuck in London so turned to our craft cupboard to see what we could make. Today we’re sharing our tutorial for making an easy camo headband.

We used shop bought feathers but you could easily go on a scavenger hunt and find your own. You also need some dark cardboard and scissors or a scalpel.

Cut your cardboard into a strip long enough to go around your child’s head. Tape two pieces together if necessary. Choose a selection of feathers and cut small slots in the cardboard to fit them through.

Place your feathers through the little slots and you have an easy camo headband, perfect for outdoor adventures!

If your child is keen to help then simply tape the feathers on to the headband for an instant headband.
