Over the last couple of weeks we’ve been enjoying Wake Up Do Lydia Lou by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Karen George.
A little ghost tries to give Lydia Lou a scare . . . but he can’t even wake her up. So he fetches his noisy animal friends to help: Mew! Moo! Too-whit too-whoo! Wake up do, Lydia Lou! Will anything ever wake her?
A gentle and playful bedtime read from the author of THE GRUFFALO, and the illustrator of FREDDIE AND THE FAIRY full of fun sounds which children will love to join in with time and time again. Both my children enjoyed reading this book. The illustrations are beautiful and the story was easy to follow and talk about. It led to a very long conversation about ghosts and where could we get one from…..
The storyline obviously didn’t keep the toddler awake. He’s currently sleeping in the spare room as we decorate his bedroom. I think he’s quite comfortable in his double bed 🙂
This author is a firm favourite of ours, so glad yours like her too – thanks for linking to the Parenting Pin it Party 😀
