We’ve just about finished re-decorating the toddler’s bedroom. The walls and ceiling had a lick of paint, as did all the woodwork. We moved his furniture around too and we’ve had no complaints from him so far.
Today we put up the final touch, two spice racks from Ikea’s BEKVÄM range which cost a very reasonable £3 each. This was another Pinterest-inspired little project and looks great in the his bedroom, above his bed.
Each shelf is made of solid wood so can be sanded and surface treated as needed. I gave each shelf two coats of white paint. As they are so light they’re perfect for hanging on an internal wall. I think they look great and make perfect storage for little books and toys.
Love this idea, so much more scope than spice jars 🙂
WOW I gotta nick that trick if I EVER get round to decorating Aaron’s room. He’s still rooming in with us (a posh way of saying co-sleeping) LOL or perhaps I am just in denial

So cheap but cheerful 🙂
Love that idea, will definitely copy it for some little books.
