Thomas & Friends Tale of the Brave

To finish off our holiday week we spent our last day at the premiere of the new Thomas & Friends film – Tale of the Brave. Despite the tail end of Hurricane Bertha we managed to get ourselves to Leicester Square where we were greeted by the Fat Controller. This set the tone for a very fun morning which the children really enjoyed.

It was obviously quite dark inside the cinema but that didn’t stop me taking lots of photos. There were loads of activities provided including train tables to play at, colouring, face painting, there was a magician,  you could have your photo taken and be entertained by Rusty and Dusty. My two had a lovely time, then it was downstairs for the special screening.

Let me tell you about the new Thomas & Friends film – Tale of the Brave:

Thomas is working at the Clay Pits when a storm closes in and the rain makes the clay cliffs unstable. A flash of lightning reveals what looks like giant footprints on the slope above, but a landslide has begun and Thomas cannot stay to investigate. Bill and Ben push Thomas to safety just in time.

Unable to go back and confirm what he saw, Thomas tells Percy about it, but Percy quickly becomes convinced that there is a monster on the island. He even becomes frightened of taking the mail train at night.

When an unusual engine with sloping boilers first appears, Percy thinks he must be the monster. James teases Percy and tries to scare him even more, but the new engine, who is called Gator, proves to be a good friend and ally, who helps Percy discover what it really means to be brave.

Both my children loved the new film. They are 2 and 4 and more than capable of sitting for an hour and watching an exciting film. There are a couple of new characters, Gator, Marion and Reg, as well as all the old favourites. The story is entertaining and fun and of course contains a great lesson about being brave even though you might be scared.

I hope you like the photos of my two having fun and I really hope you manage to see the film too. Thomas & Friends: Tale of the Brave, is playing exclusively at Vue from 22nd – 28th August and will be released on DVD on the 1st September.
