Today we planned a big day out. The sun was shining and we headed off to the Watts Gallery. The Watts Gallery is a purpose-built art gallery created for the display of works by the Victorian artist George Frederic Watts and his wife. Visiting galleries is hard with a 3 and 4 year old but they were happy to follow the trail around the gallery and we looked at some amazing paintings and sculptures.
As well as the gallery there was a lovely tea room where we had lunch and there were lots of other buildings housing studios. We liked this installation in the gardens and spotted some pretty cyclamen at the bottom of the tree (identified thanks to a pic emailed to Nanny).
After lunch we headed down the road to the beautiful Watts Chapel created by Mary Seton Watts. It was small but perfectly formed, perched rather precariously at the top of the cemetery.
We spotted lots of snowdrops peeping out of the ground.

Our final stop was Brookwood Cemetery to search for the old Necropolis Railway. We found part of the old track bed and walked along it but we were starting to feel really cold by now so headed home.
Love to see them walking hand-in-hand. You had a grand day out on such a cold day………….xxxx
