Back to civilisation – a warm bath (without having to heat the water first!) and light at the touch of a button (rather than the flame of a paraffin light). Alcohol too.

Chasing pigeons

One of my proudest moments as a parent has to be teaching the toddler to chase pigeons. We had a lovely lunch at Pizza Express in Exeter and thought we would sit by the Cathedral and enjoy an ice cream. The toddler couldn’t sit still and was happy to run all over the Cathedral Green.
