I saw a couple of amazing Bonfire Night Cupcakes on Pinterest so thought we would have a go at making our own after school. It was a lot of messy and sticky fun so we thought we would share them here with you.
First we made some delicious chocolate cupcakes – the children enjoyed licking the bowl!
Whilst they were cooling down we got our supplies ready:
Chocolate Matchmakers
Orange butter cream icing
Small marshmallows
Gold and silver sprinkles
I added the orange butter cream icing for the flames to the top of each cupcake, then let the children loose to decorate them.
We used Matchmakers for wood, leaning them up against each other to look like a bonfire.
Then the children added colourful sprinkles to look like sparks from the fire. We added mini marshmallows too, some were on cocktail sticks so they could be roasted on our mini bonfire cupcakes.
We had a great time decorating our cupcakes and, of course, eating them too!
